Feather Weft Hair Review: What It’s Like To Have Feather Weft Extensions
Feather Weft Hair Review: What It’s Like To Have Feather Weft Extensions

1. Can I get feather weft hair extensions if I have short hair?

My hair is just above my shoulder, and I was wondering if I could use feather weft hair extensions. I contacted my hair stylist in advance and thankfully, she said yes. Feather hair extensions are thin and lightweight with tiny attachment points, which are easy to conceal. Therefore, you don’t need to worry about these hair extensions being bulky at the roots even if you have short hair. These hair extensions also work well for thin or fine hair.

2. Where I got my feather weft hair extensions

Not every hair supplier provides feather weft hair extensions as they are quite a new type of hair extensions. I was recommended feather weft hair extensions by Macsara Hair – a Vietnamese hair manufacturer and made an order from their website. This brand offers feather weft hair extensions in various textures, such as straight, kinky straight, water wavy, kinky curly, among others. They also come in various colors, ranging from basic colors like black, brown, and blonde to customized colors like balayage and piano colors. Therefore, there is something for everyone! You just need to choose what matches your hair color and texture for the perfect blend.

When it comes to hair extensions, some people may be tempted to go for synthetic hair extensions as they are way cheaper. But trust me, if you are looking for a long-lasting result, you may soon be disappointed. Synthetic hair extensions will get tangled and damaged after just a few washes. Plus, they cannot be styled and often look unnatural. Therefore, the best feather hair extensions are made from human hair as they provide a natural look and feel and a longer lifespan.

If you buy feather weft hair extensions from Macsara Hair, rest assured that you’ll receive high-quality human hair extensions. When I unboxed the package, I was amazed by the natural look and feel of the hair extensions. They are soft, smooth, and naturally shiny from root to tip. The cherry on top was the competitive price, which I found to be lower than many other suppliers. Macsara Hair is a hair manufacturer so the price I got didn’t involve any middlemen costs or something.

3. How many hair extensions did I use?

Feather weft hair extensions come in a pack of individual strands. There are about 110 – 150 strands per pack (100 gr), depending on how long the hair extensions are. As my hair is just above my shoulder and I have medium hair, I used 100 grams of 18-inch hair, which consisted of about 150 strands. This was enough for me to achieve the volume and length I wanted.

Note that the number of hair extensions needed varies from person to person. Those with fine or thin hair will need fewer hair extensions than those with medium to thick hair. This is because your natural hair must have enough volume to conceal hair extensions for a seamless blend. Don’t worry, your hairstylist will help you know how many feather hair extensions you need.

4. How are feather weft hair extensions applied?

I know that installation is what you are curious most about when reading this feather weft hair review. Unlike clip-in or halo hair extensions that can be applied by yourself, feather weft hair extensions are something you must leave to the pros. And be prepared that you may need to spend up to 3 hours at a salon to get those hair extensions fitted. The reason is that feather weft hair extensions are applied strand by strand using a special crochet method, which requires meticulousness.

The best part about feather weft hair installation is that these extensions are super gentle on your hair and scalp. Not only are they thin and lightweight but the installation method is damage-free. There is no heat, chemical, or sewing needed, and there is no tugging during the process at all. My stylist just needed a crochet hook for the hair extensions to work their magic.

After 3 hours, I got a full head of feather weft hair extensions installed. Nothing can describe the thrill of getting an instant boost in volume and length! It was also an instant boost in my self-confidence. Despite having much more hair, I didn’t feel any bulkiness or something. They were very comfortable, and after just half an hour, I even forgot I was having hair extensions on.

5. Do feather weft hair extensions damage my hair?

When looking for a feather weft hair review, you may want to know if feather weft hair extensions damage natural hair. As I’ve mentioned above, feather weft hair extensions cause minimal stress on my scalp and hair due to their thin and lightweight nature and gentle application method. Therefore, I didn’t feel any pain or discomfort throughout the entire process. It’s been several weeks since that salon appointment and everything is going just fine. My natural hair is still growing healthily.

However, my hairstylist told me that feather weft hair could cause unwanted damage if they were not fitted properly. If feather weft hair extensions are applied too close to the scalp, they can limit natural hair movement and cause thinning hair over time. Therefore, have your feather weft hair extensions applied by a skilled hairstylist so you don’t need to worry about hair extension damage.

6. How long do feather weft hair extensions last?

How long feather weft hair extensions last depends on various factors, such as the quality of the hair extensions and how well you take care of them. Generally speaking, feather weft hair extensions can last up to 1 year if cared for properly. After 6 – 8 weeks, you may need to have your hair extensions reinstalled to move the attachment points to the initial position.

So that’s my experience (thankfully, a good one) with feather weft hair extensions. Hope my feather weft hair review will be helpful to you. And if these hair extensions are your choice for your next salon appointment, I’ll be glad if you share your feather weft hair extensions reviews with me. Thank you and see you in other posts!
